We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America.  As a church of the Lord Jesus Christ, our faith is founded on what Jesus has said and done, which we find in the Bible.  We believe a summary of that faith can essentially be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

In short, we believe that…

  • There is one eternal God who exists in three Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)
  • God created the universe, by his word and power, for His glory
  • The pinnacle of his creation was man (Adam and Eve), who were created in God’s image
  • But man rebelled against God in disobedience, and was cast out out of the Garden
  • God, in his mercy, chose to reconcile men and women back to himself – to do so, a perfect sacrifice was needed
  • That sacrifice is Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, who is fully human so that he can truly suffer and die, and yet is fully God so that he has power over death
  • The Old Testament primarily serves to teach us about the holiness of God and his law and to point us to this Jesus Christ – we read of Jesus in prophecy, and we see shadows of Jesus in men such as Adam, Moses, King David, King Solomon, and the prophets
  • We learn in the New Testament that, to save his people and make them acceptable to God, Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, rose on the third day from the grave, and ascended to sit at the right hand of His Father in power and majesty
  • Because Jesus obeyed God’s law, his sacrifice was accepted by the Father and we are justified in him, and he has sent his Holy Spirit to empower believers to be pleasing to God
  • This same Jesus will return again, to claim his disciples, and to judge the world
  • Until that time, believers in his church are commanded by him to love one another and to spread his gospel in love
